Smack

Smack Review

Formed in July 1968, as part of a six week "Midwestern Band and Art" camp in Lawrence Kansas, SMACK would entertain the campers with thier brand of acid rock and roll. During their farewell concert their second song was unplugged by the camp director. Days later the quartet went into the studio and recorded these cover songs for a small group of campmates who had signed up for a promised album. These extremely rare recordings feature "Purple Haze", "Fire", "Sunshine of Your Love", "I'm So Glad", Swalbr", "Manic Depression", "Set Me Free" and "For What It's Worth." Less than 150 of these were released on LP. Since the recording of this LP, the group members have not seen or communicated with each other.
